3rd Emergent Technology

Hey Everyone! I chose to do my last emergent technology project on something I use freqeuently and so do many other people. I chose to use Facebook. Now,a lot of people see this site as purely for teenagers or college kids, but I have come to realize that a wider range of people use it. My mother who is also a teacher uses it to keep in touch witht the othe teachers in her building or in other schools that she has worked at. The school itself knows how many teachers are utlizing this website and have created a school group for their school. They post meetings, parties, and other school events on the group page to help inform the teachers of the things going on in their school. It is extremely easy to use.I find it easier than myspace personally. It doesn't cost and anyone can join. It is really fun to make and just explore all the different types of thinsg you can put on your page to express yourself. I am a photographer at heart, so many can tell that by the million pictures I have on my page. 2nd Emergent Project

My second Emergent Project was online scrapbooking. I LOVED this assignment. I enjoy scrapbooking, but never can find anytime to do anymore :( but this website, smilebox.com, made it very easy and fun! I made a slideshow, there were tons of other types of projects to chose from though. You could make newspapers, postacrds and actually scrapbook pages. It's free to use for the basic items, but the more enhanced things are for premimum members only. I tried to upload my own music to the slide show ,but it didn't work cause it was a Keith Urban song and so it was copyrighted, so beware of that when you try to add music from your own library onto the slidesows. I would recommend this to people who Love scrapbooking, but just don't have enough time. This could also be a great way for teachers to make newspapers or bullentins of the class, like after a field trip or activity with pictures and captions. That would be something nice to do for the parents to have. All in all online scrapbooking was a blast.

Podcasting

Wow, somehow I missed this step about posting this on my blog..lol I had the podcast just not the blog post on here :) Well, I explored podcasting. I went through gcast.com to do my podcasting. It was fairly easy. I did my podcasting through my cell phone which made it rather simple, but before finding gcast.com I tried to use other sites and it was not soo easy. I didn't find any site that took my through step by step so the directions were like gibberish to me. It took me weeks to be able to really understand what to do and the purpose of it actually..lol I honestly don't see much use in this technology for the classroom. It is much simplier to just e-mail or write a newsletter to send home versus going through all of this trouble to just get information across to a student. I wouldn't ever suggest this technology to anyone else especially to a teacher because I just think it is usless and takes us more time than the benefits it has to offer.

Never thought that would Happen!

Well, from my last post I was so excited to go down to Georgia and come back with my boyfriend. He was planned to stay home for a week. Everything started off fine and then the most unexpected thing happened. It ended things between us. He sayed that he has feelings for another on of his friends. Which I knew she as trouble from day one. So here I was waiting four long months for him to come home and this is what I get. I feel so hurt and hatred towards him. I just don't understand how one second someone can say they love you and the next day turn around and end things. I'm glad I have my family and friends to surround me because right now I'm so pathetic, crying all the time. Even his family are calling to make sure I'm okay and apoligizing for their son's behavior saying that is not how they raised him. I just feel like I wasted part of my life waiting on him to come back home. Now, this has made me feel as if I need to figure out my life and where my next step in life is. I need change in my life and I think I know exactly what I am going to do...
